TT-(Moderator) 1,147 #2 Posted November 22, 2011 A '62 Lawn Ranger should have used the high-amp ignition switch without a solenoid. Google Stens 435-008, 435-032, or 435-097 for a few different versions that might work in your application.

TT-(Moderator) 1,147 #4 Posted November 23, 2011 I apologize...... I typed "ignition" switch when I meant to say starter switch. It's the one that looks similar to the old floor-mount dimmer switches from "back in the day". It's slightly visible in this picture of a 32E I once owned:

TT-(Moderator) 1,147 #6 Posted November 23, 2011 Rare? - not really. Wrong? - not necessarily. A converted 32R? - highly probable. The 32R was the recoil-start version and should have had an HT55C 3088 (Tecumseh) Lauson 5.5hp engine. It would have had just the single-wire key switch in the small hole below the hole for the starter button. The 32E would have had an HT55C 3089 (Tecumseh) Lauson 5.5hp engine: Now that you see "Lauson", does that help with what's on the engine decal?
