can whlvr 994 #1 Posted November 19, 2011 so i got the 50dollar special running good with an old carb from an 1978 k series,so i have read many times about carb rebuild kits,whats in the kits,and can someone tell me if you can take the main jet out of the newer carbs,the ones without the adjustable main jet,its on a 1990 magnum 12 hp Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

A kit isn't very expensive and a rebuild is not really difficult as long as the throttle shaft isn't worn too badly. Then it becomes more complicated.
