Shuboxlover 480 #1 Posted November 9, 2011 I was installing my 2-stage blower on my 520 tonight, got it all hooked up, and finally I put the chute control lever on....and this is what I have.... I don't know how in the HE** I'm going to be able to turn the chute short of getting completely out of the tractor. When I bought the cab (from a fellow red square member) I was under the assumption that it would work on the 520 WITH a 2-stage blower. Now, while it does fit on a 520 (I have to slide the seat forward (which I can live with for now until I find a "correct" cab) I don't know what I'm gonna do about the chute control.... do you guys have ANY input/suggestions.... ...or any leads on a cab for the 520? dgoyette 12 #2 Posted November 9, 2011 The cabs came with a chute control extension to bring the control inside the cab. The cab frame has the support for the chute control built in so once you put the control extension rod on you will no longer use the OEM support bracket that is in the mid mount. I can get you the length of the extension but it seems like it is 8 or 10 inches or so. I got one blower that had a thread rod welded on the chute control rod to extend it. But I would think these are probably still available from Original Cab. Give them a call.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,532 #3 Posted November 9, 2011 My berco 38 inch has the same bracket (which I still need to install) and the chute control is adjustable in and out. Does your adjust? Looks like the hole is there in the cab. If it does not ajust i would sleave it and extend it.
mattd860 162 #4 Posted November 9, 2011 Shubox - you need to order part # 10296 from the Original Tractor Cab Company (phone # is 765-663-2214). It is a 12" extension for the two-stage control lever. Or you could weld a 12" piece of steel (3/8" I think) that can be obtained from Home Depot .
Shuboxlover 480 #5 Posted November 9, 2011 You guys are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! Thank-You VERY VERY much..... Now I just wish finding a 520 cab was as easy as this fix. :wh:
can whlvr 994 #6 Posted November 10, 2011 another option is to look at horsefixers setup,he uses motors to turn the chute so you dont need the handle, just a sugestion,i had to extend the handle on my single stage to reach in the cab,but the handle moves up and down so i had to leave a slot in the cab so the handle can move when you lower or raise the thrower
jtmoyer 1 #7 Posted November 11, 2011 i took a small piece of 1/4" pvc i had laying around. just the right size to slide the rod through. drilled some holes and i was all set for under $1.
