fourwheels0 191 #1 Posted November 5, 2011 well i picked this up today. found out it's a 1989. it came with a brinly style york rake,aerator,front plow,mowing deck. i'll get it cleaned up tomorrow and check everything over. it seems to run good. a lot quieter than my kohlers. now i need to research 520's to find out about them lol. spark949 24 #4 Posted November 6, 2011 Nice. I just picked one up about two months ago. I do like it, I'm not sold on the being automatic as I like having the control of the clutch. fourwheels0 191 #5 Posted November 6, 2011 well after a bath and some checking it over i found these things. lights don't work rear hitch cable is broke brakes need some tinkering test light panel sticker is gone (i need a pic of that if anyone has one). deck is in great shape with 1 small hole on the rear side of the discharge chute. so far it seems to run good. still needs an oil change and tune up. still not sure what i'm gonna do with it though. Welcome to the 520 owners club. nope that's not it.but thanks for the pic. i found a pic of what i need. it's the test light cover that tells you what light is for what. the brake light is on (i know it needs the brakes tinkered with). and the oil pressure light blinks but ONLY when you push the test button. is this normal?.any idea's on this guys?. TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #10 Posted November 7, 2011 Dash decal (p/n 114024): The oil light should blink and the other lights should be on steady when the test switch is activated. The oil light should also blink when the ignition switch is on / engine not running. As for the constantly-on brake light ~ look for a "micro switch" fastened to the underside of the plate just ahead of the rear fender. It's either bad/stuck or it needs tweaked a little so the parking brake lock lever touches the actuator only when in the locked position. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
