Raider12 13 #1 Posted November 5, 2011 I have a 1997 520H and a 36" tiler model 79370. I need a lift cable for this. When I look this up on the Toro web site, I find info on a 300 series and not a 500? Is the lift cable the same? Denver
Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted November 5, 2011 I'm pretty sure the cable is the same, but the clevis on the end that is under the tractor, is longer on the hydro tractors, but the cable is the same from stick to hydro, just be sure to order a clevis end for a hydro. Raider12 13 #3 Posted November 5, 2011 I have the clevis part, and I have the cable, well kinda. The cable won't come out of the older tractor. I moved several inches and now it's locked up tight. Thanks for the info Kelly. Denver
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted November 5, 2011 Also the lift tube is made for the eaton hydro, it's not thew same as the stick shift tractor, it has a S bend in it.
Raider12 13 #5 Posted November 5, 2011 I think what has happened is this cable hasa plastic cover over it, and Im thinking that it has started to peal off and has the cable bound up inside the tube. Unfortunitly the cable is half way out and now if won't move all. SO! Screw it, I'll get a new cable to install in the new tractor. I have a tube already inside it. The only way I can think of getting the old one out would be to remove the tube it self and heat it up to melt the plastic. By then I have ruin the cable anyway. :dunno:
