Steering shaft Bushing

Recommended Posts

Poodie

Hi. I'm ready to eliminate the slop in the steering shaft on my 1277 (where it goes through the dash). The bushing seems easy to find, but I'm unsure of its size. Do I need a 3/4 X 5/8 or a 1" X 3/4? Or some other size? Are these still available from Toro?

I'd prefer a bronze one over a plastic (nylon) one.

Thanks

I am thinking its a 1" OD, 3/4" ID flanged bushing. I am about 90% sure I have used the ones from TSC (bronze), quite often the aluminum housing is worn as well, so you can glue it in with JB Weld.

Thanks. I'll take that little project on over the next couple weeks.

:wh: I am working on the same project, if I can ever get the steering wheel off. The one in my dash is plastic/nylon. The replacement PN: 5409, is bronze/composite metal. :dunno:
