bean 85 #1 Posted November 2, 2011 have any of you plowed a garden with an rj 58? I have a 10" brinly plow and cultivator and disc. I thought I might let my neighbor do the initial plowing this fall and then I will try it with the rj this spring. just wondering if anyone had any stories to tell. :dunno:
smoreau 658 #2 Posted November 3, 2011 I have a 1960 400 My brother and I used to do some plowing with in early fall. Worked very nice in my opinion, other then needing some weight in the front. and here are some of my brother having some fun
big mike 13 #3 Posted November 3, 2011 An 8" plow will pull muuuch easier unless the ground is very sandy or loamy.I would be surprised if a tractor with 6x12s and short hp would even pull a 10" plow at full depth.Setup will be the key.
bean 85 #4 Posted November 3, 2011 smoreau, nice pics, and i wish my dirt looked that nice. big mike, I can take care of the weight, just need to throw my 250lbs on the seat. the hp is another story. I was thinking if the ground had been broken 6 months earlier and all rocks were removed, i might be able to pull it off. i will let you know how it turns out. thanks
