aeallison 1 #3 Posted October 11, 2011 Looks like that poor mistreated deck was ready to go anyway, the stump just finished the job that the PO started by poor maintenance. My deck will probably meet with the same fate, for the same reason. Its a shame to see good equipment abused. So did you wind up getting the whole tractor or just the deck? fourwheels0 191 #4 Posted October 11, 2011 i got the whole tractor with dump cart, aerator and snow plow. after the deck went south he parked it for 4yrs waiting to get another deck and never did. i never mow with my horses anyways so it didn't matter to me that the deck was messed up. i see decks like this or just rusted out all the time. 10 minutes with an air hose and the deck will not go bad. i see people use a garden hose and tell them not to unless you use an air hose after. keep them clean and dry and they'll last forever. aeallison 1 #5 Posted October 11, 2011 I mowed the grass for the fist time with my WH yesterday and I must admit that I prefer my 46" Yard Machine 800 series cheapo as a mower. The WH cuts nice but without a hydrostat transmission its a lot of shifting and oops's. I hope my wife doesn't notice the now missing shrubs that paid the price of being in the wrong place at the wrong time while I tried to learn how to mow with my 312-8. :banghead:
