Butch 194 #1 Posted October 9, 2011 I took the tube off my 314 and at the bottom was like a 3" length of rope that came in it. It was half in the tube and half out of the tube. The strange thing is it didn't interfere with the dipstick. So can someone explain why it would be in there? Thanks
SNYFIX 12 #2 Posted October 9, 2011 Probably tube was loose in the block and that was "Bubbas" way of 'tightening' it up --
mr.pipes 4 #3 Posted October 9, 2011 Probably tube was loose in the block and that was "Bubbas" way of 'tightening' it up -- Maybe Bubba was old school. Before there was teflon tape plumbers used wicking (lamp string) with pipe dope to seal threads.
C-Series14 15 #4 Posted October 9, 2011 I think he is saying it was inside the tube. How was it attached or was it just stuck inside the tube?
Butch 194 #5 Posted October 9, 2011 Yes. Half in the tube and half out.
