WHRNaddict 5 #1 Posted October 9, 2011 Picked up a 400 surburban last week and it had a plug in the switch hole on the dash, and was wired to kill it when the throttle was pulled down to idle postion. It was a make shift wiring job. Does anyone know what is correct? A toggle is to small for the hole, the hole will except a key switch with perfect fit, so that the way I'm leaning, but wanted to get the pro's thought first. Thanks for your feed back. wallfish 18,219 #2 Posted October 9, 2011 The original kill wire was connected to the throttle lever. You should see an isolated screw that the wire connects to and when the lever is pulled all the way, it touches and grounds the screw to kill the motor. This set up did turn unreliable over the years so many people wired the kill to a switch.

CasualObserver 3,411 #4 Posted October 10, 2011 The hole/plug are as you guessed for a key switch for the 550.
