Kelly 1,033 #1 Posted September 28, 2011 I've been looking for a 704 for a while now, well this 604 came up on ebay last week with a nice cheap buy it now, and less than a hour drive, I picked it up this weekend, and was very happy, for the most part it's a clean tractor, hood is a bit ruff, but everything else is straight and near rust free, I'll pull the tucky out and put a pull start 7hp Kohler to make it a 704, then last night I seen a ad on CL for WH parts, in the pictures I could see it was most of a lawn ranger, with what looked like a good hood, he was asking $100 I talked him down to $80 on the phone so off I went hoping the hood was nice like he said, it was a 45 min. drive but when I got there I could not believe just how nice the hood was, only 2 dents and a grille bar twisted, the bottom is perfect, this has to be the nicest used hood I've seen that was saved from the scrap pile, so now I have a nice hood for my new 704 project, I'll collect parts to finish it before I start on it, they go faster that way. here is pictures of my score, I've dragged others home but nothing worth talking about, this is the first nice one in a while.
