StWeiler 6 #1 Posted September 27, 2011 Upon this last purchase of the 1973 10 Automatic I have to question my own personal sanity level. I need another project to do like I need a hole in the head. That being said I can't seem to turn down a seemingly good deal, so pulled her up on the trailer from the midst of the pasture and tucked her snugly in my shed. She ailed from multiple symptoms that any once proud and boistrous young lady would have had she been ridden hard and not given the attention and affection she deserved. It became clear that her previous master had chosen a life of solitude for her as he so carelessly placed her deep in the pasture for her retirement years. I suspect he used her up for all she was worth, rode her til she couldn't be ridden any longer and alas found a much younger model to ride. I couldn't help but feel some pity for the old girl as I gazed upon her imagining how she must feel at this stage in her life, knowing how glorious and brilliant her life once was. My compassion and thought are of diligent intent. Knowing she can and will once again be the queen of the neighborhood a plan of action has been formed. Step 1: Check her vitals! Upon investigation she had a slight heart problem, but nothing that a little repair work couldn't fix. Routine check ups are the key to good health and long life. Step 2: Change her diet! Once again the severity of her previous masters neglect comes to full fruition. Upon a good internal bowel cleansing and refresh she is able to sit up and take nourishment with the best of them. She even has an occassional tendency to pass gas. (We need to tweak that diet a bit!) Step 3: Work her out and get that body into shape! 38 years has been hard on this ol' girl. We need to do some major plastic surgery to enhance her attributes to what they once adorned. ....and the journey begins. Left for dead, just itching to be young and spry again! Gettin naked for the fun to begin...... Short skirt removed for better examination Suitable protection and the company of a very old and tired Mr JD

StWeiler 6 #3 Posted September 27, 2011 After a close chest examination it is determined that there will be very little need for cosmetic enhancement.

MalMac 1,332 #6 Posted September 27, 2011 There is one rule to live by for your own health (made up the rule myself) NEVER NEVER NEVER look back at all the receipts and tally them up after a restore. Doing this will lead to a certain on the spot, no waiting, right here right now HEART ATTACK. I know I did it once. If you are a married individual and the wife would find out, the chance for a divorce will increase or you might be lucky and just get hit up the side of head with a frying pan. Take those receipts and secure them. Secure them like the Nuclear launch codes. Have fun with your new girl she will look like the pageant queen she once was. StWeiler 6 #7 Posted September 27, 2011 Ummm ....yes I did prime over the hood ornament. It seems that the PO must have epoxied it on because the clips are AWOL! Duly noted on the receipt tally! My wife is aware of my crazed antics but NO she doesn't know (nor does she EVER need to know) the expense at which it costs for the sanity of the game. (I've bought and sold 7 tractors this year alone and most definitely did not generate revenue....but that's not why I enjoy it) Like I tell her....I could be down at the pub drinking those $'s away. Much easier for you to holler out the back door and know exactly where I am and what I'm up to!
