Big Jake 18 #1 Posted September 27, 2011 The only tag I can find is 12k801 7141 7341 Thanks Jake :thumbs2:
C-Series14 15 #2 Posted September 27, 2011 I bet it is a 1978 C-121 8-Speed...7141 is the serial number, 7341 is the date of manufacture...so should be a 1978 model which would make the VIN 81-12K801... Description, pics, etc. would help guarantee it.

C-Series14 15 #5 Posted September 28, 2011 If you click on the link he provided, it shows this tractor is already loaded in the database....
rmaynard 16,350 #6 Posted September 28, 2011 If you click on the link he provided, it shows this tractor is already loaded in the database.... Do you think whomever moderates that group picked it up from here as soon as you posted last night? I'd like to know when the info was actually placed into the database. The fact that the info is not confirmed concerns me about the accuracy of the Yahoo data.
C-Series14 15 #7 Posted September 28, 2011 Might of...I think Garry does the database, not positive though...

rmaynard 16,350 #9 Posted September 28, 2011 The only problem with that is if he got the serial number and build date reversed, it would make it a 1977 C-120. Without actually seeing the tag, knowing the first two digits, or seeing a picture, we are only guessing.

Without actually seeing the tag, knowing the first two digits, or seeing a picture, we are only guessing. Had it as a 1977 once but did not look correct so changed it. I just put it back so it is now posted as both years/models. Take a look and you will see why. The 1977 March serial numbers end up higher than the May serial numbers. Highly unlikely. rmaynard 16,350 #11 Posted September 28, 2011 I think if we could get Big Jake to take a picture of the tractor for us, the questions would all be answered. :thumbs2:
rmaynard 16,350 #12 Posted October 1, 2011 Okay. Big Jake sent me some pictures. We can confirm that this is definitely NOT an 81-12K801, and because of the pictures and the info that he provided, it is a pre-1978, C-120 8-Speed. Though the pictures are poor quality, you can see that the hood stand, lift lever, height adjustment screw, shift pattern plate, frame, gas tank and fender pan are all consistent with a 1977. The numbers, 12K801 indicate C-120, the 7141 would be the Julian date code.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,512 #14 Posted October 1, 2011 Now his 7341 serial number is wrong. Should be 17341. Garry
