Found this on craigslist, and after looking in the gallery think it's a 73 8 4-speed. Seller says it just says "8" on the side. Gonna pick this up for parts, big maybe use it as a mower. I'm not really impressed how the gear decks mow.

What your looking at is a model 1-0120 which is a 1973 8-4speed.

I dont think the gear decks work on 1973 tractors. It should use a 36" attach-a-matic style deck.

Not the greatest pic, but isn't that a RD gear deck in the pic?? This is one of the reasons I'm thinking of getting it is for the deck. I don't want another gear deck.

Yes, it does appear to be a rear discharge.

That does look like an old gear deck. I don't think that will fit that tractor unless it was retrofitted. Judging by what I see in the pic, it wasn't.

Yes it is a rear discharge deck but it isn't an Attach A Matic. You'll need to have the owner confirm the model number on that deck if he can find a sticker on something that old.

I talked to him on the phone, so I'll call him again and see what the skinny is. He says that the tractor was used up to bout 2 years ago, then just being sitting a barn or something. Wonder if he grabbed the wrong deck for the photo shoot.
