littleredrider 408 #1 Posted September 15, 2011 I found on craigslist a Kohler Command 20 horse v-twin. Guy said it's off a cement mixer. Didn't run when he got it, didn't say what was wrong or what he did, but runs good now I guess. Are these engines any good?? I did some searching and found they can get hot if not cleaned. This won't be on a mower I don't think, so shouldn't be an issue.

Deere Hunter 54 #3 Posted September 15, 2011 I like them and they are easy to work on. You would be suprised at the abuse the Kohler Commands can take.
littleredrider 408 #4 Posted September 15, 2011 I dunno yet. I'm picking up a 1045 this weekend from grnlark with no motor. I might put it in that if it will fit, or possibly put the Kohler in the 520 and the diesel in the 1054. Need to get the tractor here first and take some measurements. I've always wanted a v-twin, but other than the 520 never had anything to put it in. I don't want to get a POS motor. I really like the K181s, think I'm getting another one, so hoping the command will be just as good.
