HorseFixer 2,013 #1 Posted September 14, 2011 Had a P.M. the other day from wh500special ~Steve and he heard that I was looking for a 520H After a couple Pm's We hooked up on the phone, He told me the History of the tractor what he knows and said That Mechanically it was in good shape but needed a mouse nest removed from the engine cowling damn critters as it set in his dads Garage for a year. the biggest part the paint is faded, needs a battery, carb kit, probably plugs, points, Oil change, And remove the Bird Chit from the seat. pretty much the same treatment I gave the 417A. This one is a 1993 with 820 hrs So looks like shortly I will be hooking up the Horse Hauler & making a trip down by Ole St. Louie. I will post some pics Steve started working on removing the mouse nest but has been busy at his work and hasn't had much time to get back on it. I have a second Newer Cab from an LXI machine that I am going to retrofit on this machine. After it is freshened up and mechanically together it Will transform into my Snow Chucker. Here are some pics I have of this sorry for small size pics but that's all I have right now. Cheers ~Duke

AMC RULES 37,205 #7 Posted September 15, 2011 My first attempt at blowing with a single stage on my 520. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu48aGgLkzw I learned a lot that day about what not to do, but it was still fun though. I can assure you, this year will be much better.

546cowboy 302 #10 Posted September 16, 2011 That's some trip for a tractor. Must be one heck of a deal to drive 400+ miles with gas at $4.00 a gallon. I've had two 520's for sale for a couple months. I was at the Charlotte show and had a 1991 520 there that I was asking $1100 for and takiing offers. I only live about 80 miles from South Bend. Well I do have them for sale. One refurbished and one that doesn't look pretty but runs perfect. Both have 60" decks or I do have 48" decks if you prefer. Good luck on your trip .
HorseFixer 2,013 #11 Posted September 16, 2011 That's some trip for a tractor. Must be one heck of a deal to drive 400+ miles with gas at $4.00 a gallon. Thanks Cowboy Yes I did get a Very Good Deal IMHO, I Have known Steve for a few years now and trust his knowledge and opinion on this machine. And even at adding on the $250.00 in fuel costs the package deal is still considerably less than $1100.00 I've had two 520's for sale for a couple months. I was at the Charlotte show and had a 1991 520 there that I was asking $1100 for and takiing offers. I only live about 80 miles from South Bend. Yes I seen you there, and was eYe balling yer tractors, I think Brian buckrancher was there with me. anyways The hood on the Older 520H looked a lil rusty. At that moment I don't think make me an offer came up in the conversation. But I did want a late model with front swept Axel and GRS. Well I do have them for sale. One refurbished and one that doesn't look pretty but runs perfect. Both have 60" decks or I do have 48" decks if you prefer. Cowboy, no doubt you will sell them both, Just a little much for me right now Thanks Again Good luck on your trip . Thanks, And Well looks like Mike aka Ol550 is gonna hook me up as he is driving right past Steve's place! Thanks Mike!!! Yes
wh500special 2,277 #12 Posted September 16, 2011 He's not stealing it, but he's not doing too badly either. Hopefully he'll not need to sink a bunch of money into it. If it was currently running and out of my way it would be worth more, but it's been sitting motionless in my garage - in the way! - since June and I don't have time to remove the 40 pounds of crap the mice packed in around the engine. So I'll be glad to see it go. Not as glad as my wife will be though Can't wait til it's gone! Steve

546cowboy 302 #14 Posted September 16, 2011 Well I hope it works out well for both of you. I did post before the show what I was bringing and that I would be considering offers. The hood on the 1991 wasn't rusty, someone before I got it dropped something really heavy on it and put a big dent in itand some deep scratches. It won't look that way when I get around to working it over. Of course, then it won't be as cheap either. I'd sell it for $900 to a red square member and consider trades.
