bmay432 0 #1 Posted August 30, 2011 I started my resto. on what I think is a 1961 551 suburban but I am not 100% SURE. On the front axle I found a plate screwed on it with the numbers 3614 stamped on it. What do these numbers mean? thank's guys. http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb348/bmay432/wh2006.jpg

wallfish 15,986 #3 Posted August 30, 2011 The tractor in the pics (Mike posted for you) in your previous thread is a 551. You can be SURE of that. The hood stand, frame, and trans all point to 551. All other parts could interchange with a 401.
bmay432 0 #4 Posted August 31, 2011 Thanks for the replies. never actually seen a wheel horse in person until a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to learn as I go.
wallfish 15,986 #5 Posted August 31, 2011 I wasn't trying to be stern or anything, just want you to know exactly what you have. It makes it much easier to find parts when you can refer to the correct model. Many of these tractors appear the same but there are usually a few giveaways that can ID them. I've learned the differences here on RS and because I own a few which includes a 401 and two 551s
