Front Wheel Bearings

Recommended Posts

71_Bronco

I took off my front wheels / tires the other night from the spindles (I think that's what they are called). The bearings looked good and weren't gritty or noisy. They were pretty well packed with grease too.

So now that I have the wheels off, I was thinking about just replacing them anyways, but part of me doesn't want to.

Is there any way to check if they are good? Should I replace them anyways?

What say you guys?

As always, thanks for your input guys!

If there is no play in them, and they run smoothly, I see no reason to replace them. Just clean out all the old grease and repack with new. However, if that little voice keeps saying "replace me, replace me", a new set of four is not all that expensive.
