SAM58 30 #1 Posted August 17, 2011 Recently I was mowing here at the office on a saturday and my 520H w/ 48" SD deck. We have had lots of rain and I think it has been raining miracle grow. Grass was real thick and wet close to the ground. Needless to say it took out my A-100 mule drive belt. I did not have an extra one but we sell B series belts here at the store and I had some in stock. So I put a B-100 on it to finish the grass and it worked great! I have left it on there and cannot see any problems with the wider belt. The A series is 1/2" wide and the B series is 5/8" wide. It doesn't set as deep in the pulley as the A series but is working fine. Also I notice the the 60" deck that I had came with a B-128 on the deck to drive the spindles, but the mule drive belt is a A-100. Anyone else tried different series belts on theirs? Do you see any problems that it might cause in the future??? :ROTF:
tarcoleo 119 #2 Posted August 17, 2011 On my C-series WH's with 48" SD decks, "B" belts are not successful; they are thrown off frequently whereas "A" kevlars are not. These "A"s have been really long lasting. Just my experience. Tom in RI
