Octim1985 0 #1 Posted August 16, 2011 what is the best way to stop the front end of my 266h from slipping around. I thought about weight and maybe chains.
rmaynard 14,934 #2 Posted August 16, 2011 What are they slipping on? What type of tires do you have?
wallfish 15,973 #3 Posted August 16, 2011 This is the cheapest and easiest solution. #40 roller chain less than $20. Easy on and off.
KC9KAS 4,741 #4 Posted August 16, 2011 Put some fluid in the front tires.
Octim1985 0 #5 Posted August 17, 2011 I have no idea what type of tires I have Im pretty sure there are the ones it came from the factory with. They seem to slip when I make a tight turn. And what happens is I turn the wheel and the tractor just keeps going straight.

And what happens is I turn the wheel and the tractor just keeps going straight. Look on the sidewall of the tires. The brand and name is there. You say they slip when you make a tight turn. Are you turning on grass, gravel, pavement or what? Is the surface dry or wet?
Octim1985 0 #8 Posted August 17, 2011 they slip in dry grass, wet grass, and on wet pavement
wallfish 15,973 #9 Posted August 17, 2011 Sounds like something in the steering components, not the tires. Post some pics
rmaynard 14,934 #10 Posted August 17, 2011 I would suggest checking the front end alignment. You could have something out of adjustment. If you need a service manual, I have an excellent quality manual in .pdf format that I can email to you. PM me with your email address and I will send it to you if you need it. Duff 206 #11 Posted August 17, 2011 I'm with John on this one. Possibly the gears aren't meshing properly where the steering shaft meets the fan gear - this is not altogether uncommon (assuming the 200-series has a similar steering set-up to the 200's and 400's?). When you turn all the way one way or the other does the steering wheel continue to turn but the tires don't do anything? Duff :D
