Engine Oil Amount for Kohler K301S Motor

Hi,

I just bought a 312-8 over the weekend and changed the oil in it today. So far, I have put a quart and a half in it, but can not see the full line very well at all.

Can someone please tell me how much oil the Kohler K301S motor should have in it?

I had one awhile ago and forgot how much it took!

I have a lot of mowing to do today so I really need to resolve this quickly.

Any help would be appreciated!

K301S takes 2 quarts. Always best to put in one quart, then add the second quart slowly while checking the dip stick until it indicates full.
