PICKED UP NUMBER TWO TODAY

Recommended Posts

buckrancher

went and picked up my second rj35 today

engine clinton model #1200 184 sn#3648211B

I'm thinking it's a 1955 some of the black paint the p.o painted the front rims with

has some chips in it and the rim looks to be silver under the black

100_5211.jpg

the p.o had started a restore so it's just what I have been looking for

the first one I got I deicided to leave original so this one I can strip and

redo my way

Hood is set up for push button kill switch but I think it's the wrong switch

100_5207.jpg

3 blade deck

Bottom side

100_5214.jpg

Has anyone seen one of these? looks to be around 30" the p.o said his dad

had it on the rear hitch

100_5216.jpg

does look like red paint on blade

This will be fun to watch. You're going to have to get a bigger trailer Brian. Another nice find!

Brian,

It is great that a collector and restorer that does the quality work that you do got a hold of one that has already been "tainted" if you will. I agree that you should not touch the other one as it is just too clean of an all original machine. I know you will do it justice and I am certainly looking forward to seeing the end result. Great pick up !! :woohoo:

Nice looking 55 brian so thats the one you were telling me about this last weekend! Looks like she need the correct oil bath air cleaner and man all the sudden those rare early three blade decks are comming out of the wood work! Now the sickle bar all most looks like one that Frazer rototillers used ? They had a front mount but also a rear mount. You removed the tiller tine section and installed the sickle mower in place of the miller bonnet. Going to have to dig up the info and see if it matches what you have. still a very nice find. :woohoo:

Brian, looks great! Thanks for posting the serial #'s. I compared them to my 1200 184 engine rj35 and they are real close. Yours is 3648211 and mine is 3648161. Yours could have been built some time after mine and they are very similiar....same front wheels and tires, hood with push button kill switch, frame, engine, & other options. My vote is that you got a late 55 as well. I'm glad to see another 3-blade deck survived other than mine and just a few I have seen. I included a picture of my 35 like yours to compare to just for the fun of it. :woohoo: Good luck with it and look forward to the progress pictures. Does your frame have the large or small hole in it where the lift cable comes up and out? Thanks

Did this RJ start in NY, go to FL, and back to NY via a guy named Cooter? :D
