Dual Stage lift rod

Recommended Posts

Forest Road

I picked a two stage blower today. It's in relatively good shape. And missing a couple small pieces. I need dimensions for a lift lever part#117447. I'm confident I can make something work.

Thanks

Kevin

I have a lift rod to use for a template. This part is kind of odd shaped, not like a single stage that has a straight tube which is easily measured. I can pull it out and get some measurements and pics for you tomorrow.

117447 is showing up as a chain.

What # part is it from the breakdown is it? 1,2,3...?

His title says the lift rod, so that's what I assume he was missing

Your right but I was reading the post when I replied.

It says lift lever in his post.

I didn't see a lift lever on the breakdown, just these.

Link-Lift

Arm-Lift

Rod-Lift

As you pointed out the lift rod or Rod-Lift is kind of a funky shape.

Just kind of a PITA to describe that piece and have it not be what he needs.

Thanks..... Its the lift rod which goes to the tractorto raise and lower. Looks like it ought be fun to bend. Back to my emt bnding days.

I'm not positive it has to be bent like that to work. I can send you the part to repro if you prefer or we can try measurements and communication. It should be fairly easy to duplicate with black steel pipe.

Let's try measurements first. And I assume it mounts in the same spot as the single stage flag.

I took some measurements from mine.

Kind of a PITA but I hope they help.

I have a manual I could email you if you want. Just PM me your email address

The diameter is about the same a 1/2" blk pipe

Overall length from outside of pins is 31-3/4

pin at tractor end is 3/8", blower end 1/2"

1st section is 8-5/8" from center of pin to bend

2nd sec is about 8" and bends 2" to the left

3rd sec is about 8" and bends 1" more (now 3" total to left) and 2-3/4" up

4th sec is about 7" and bends 1" more (now 4" total to left) and 4-5/8" up

These are taken with pins horizontal and to the left looking rom the top down starting at the tractor lift end.

On the second piece, close to the first there is a tab with a hole for the spring to hook on.

It is at a 45 degree angle to the left between horizontal and vertical.

Status update

I had multiple emails back and forth with the seller. He had 2 snow blowers. Initially he thought he used the deck lift to raise and lower the blower. After a few more emails and a photo he realized he'd forgotten about the lift rod. He leaves it on the tractor year round. He was kind enough to pull it off and loan it to me. I'll be stopping by my local welder to get a price on him making one for me.

Thanks to Mr Pipes for all the photos and Wallfish as well.

No problem, glad I could help.

I hope it's something he can do and at a decent price.

If it all works out :woohoo:

And if something isn't clear or you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Duke;

this looks like exactly the info that I needed, thanks for the majic thread :D

looking at the pictures it might be easier to make up 2 short straight linkage rods and a pivot/lever/shaft :woohoo: in the center attachmatic mount that transfers the linkage from the center of the tractor over to the left side to align with the lift lever linkage that fits in the front mount
