kj4kicks 151 #1 Posted June 10, 2008 Hi Guys, Progress has been slow on the 2-for-1 Electro and C120 projects. High heat and humidity are limiting the time frame for priming and painting. Finally finished putting the expoy primer on everything tonight. That's been a 4 day deal in itself! Anyhow, here is the larger of the cool new WH wind chimes: The smaller, but much more heavy duty version: The rest of the pics can be seen HERE Started sanding on some of the cured pieces tonight. Maybe tomorrow evening we can see some red !

Rollerman 290 #4 Posted June 10, 2008 Eldon I'm amazed how fast you tear into stuff & continually refinish it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
kpinnc 10,769 #5 Posted June 10, 2008 Eldon I'm amazed how fast you tear into stuff & continually refinish it. No kidding! I think Eldon may hold the unofficial record for restoring in short order! No need to mention the quality of the paintjobs either! Looks great Eldon, I'm sure you can pull it off! Kevin
KyBlue 652 #6 Posted June 10, 2008 We've all got faith in ya. Looks like you moving right along!
kj4kicks 151 #7 Posted June 10, 2008 Got the frames painted today: and added some color to the wind chimes: Here's the deck that will probably end up on the Electro. It's a TT find from CL. 42" SD with a 2 year old shell: Even if the tractor gets done it time, the deck will have to wait until after the show. How many more days Jason? TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #8 Posted June 10, 2008 Looking excellent, master-painter Eldon! I even saw a part from the TT pile in that one picture. :WRS:
kj4kicks 151 #9 Posted June 10, 2008 I even saw a part from the TT pile in that one picture. There are a few parts from the TT pile there. The important ones haven't been painted yet: Dash bezel, gas tank tray, etc. the steering gear and a couple lower dash tunnel plates made it though! Thanks a million, again! Kelly 1,028 #10 Posted June 11, 2008 Did I see 3 lower steering gears hanging there? You sneeking in another your not telling us about? Or am I seeing things?
rustbucket 4 #11 Posted June 11, 2008 i agree i see 3 and you only said 2 tractors hmmmm suspicious activities going on over there.
kj4kicks 151 #12 Posted June 11, 2008 Did I see 3 lower steering gears hanging there? You sneeking in another your not telling us about? Or am I seeing things? Kelly gets the honorary Hawkeye award for today. Yes, there's 3 of several pieces there. Never hurts to have spares, and I can mix-and-match during re-assembly to get the best fitting setup, especially for the steering. There are also 3 front axles that didn't make it to the photo shoot. Not like they'll go to waste. There's still another Electro (Karls old one) waiting in the wings for AFTER the show.
Kelly 1,028 #13 Posted June 11, 2008 One other thing, You putting wide front wheels on the Electro? I see two sets of wide no narrow.
kj4kicks 151 #14 Posted June 11, 2008 One other thing, You putting wide front wheels on the Electro? I see two sets of wide no narrow. Right between the sets of wheels, and hidden under a cracked dash bezel, (and on top of a boat seat) is the original pair of wheels. I like the wides a little better, and picked up the 2nd set at TT's WH Emporium. Man, you guys are good. I really gotta watch what's in the background around here... perry 82 #17 Posted June 11, 2008 you know those windchimes could be consider art deco. you could make one up for real outta old parts and someone would buy it . its amazing how ugly art is sometimes.
kj4kicks 151 #18 Posted June 11, 2008 Good idea Perry. I'll take all the steering columns that were cut (not by me), and other out-of-spec parts, and make some art work ! (in my spare time, LOL) Still not sure how many tractors are going to the show. At least 4 or 5, or 6... I'll figure that out on Wednesday night. Energy drink? Coffee all morning, sweet tea until bedtime. I think I have built up an immunity to caffeine.
