Dual stage snow blower issues???

I'm going to pick up a decent looking 2 stage blower tomorrow. I'm just wondering if there is anything I should look for? Do the gear boxes go on them? I plan to tear it down and go through it before the white stuff falls. So if there's that one little "check this thing out" please a heads up would be much appreciated.

check the bearings on the auger and impeller, also the chainntensioning device at the right nangle drive to then impeller shaft, their are several versions,some use a wear block on the chain and some use an idler sprocket
