m2424j 9 #1 Posted August 6, 2011 :woohoo: Hello, I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Kohler MV20S. It looks like it has mounting for both vertical and horizontal? This is a beast of a motor. I have a 310-8 and love it but I would love to find a way to put the Kohler MV20 on a Wheel Horse. I got the motor from a friend for cutting down 2 trees. She runs smooth but is mounted vertical to an old Craftsman garden tractor. I looked the motor up online and they are very expensive to replace. I have a friend that wants to race it but I don't want to waste a good work motor. Does anyone know what other tractors the MV20 would have powered? I think Case and I know Craftsman used the MV20 but I'm not sure if Toro Wheel Horse have use it. Any information is better then no information. m2424j 9 #2 Posted August 12, 2011 I found some other tractors that are powered by the Kohler MV20S. It's not listed for any Wheel Horse. It's for tractors in the late 80's and mid 90's. Mowing tractors by Dixon, Ariens, Gravely, Exmark and a buch more commercial type mowers. They're not cheap to replace. It's would make a good custom puller! :woohoo:
shorts 182 #3 Posted August 12, 2011 I would imagine that the engine blocks are all machined for either vertical or horizontal applications with the difference being how the oil drain and pickup systems are installed inside the engine depending in intended application. the long and short is they look the same but are different
