Nice lawn tractor. It will serve you well if maintained.

Looks great but the rear wheels are on backwards. I see the JD in the barn and you have the rear wheels on JD style.

I have done that before myself.

That's the way the wheels came from the factory. Those wheels have never been off the tractor since it was new. With the 38'' mower the rear guide wheels are real close to the rear wheels so you want the wheels set in the narrow setting.

Thanks Tom. It should last me a long time being that I don't use it. Its been in retirement the last few years. I have a green and yellow tractor that does all the hard work around here. I have so much sentimental value in this 244-H I don't want to use it. My Grampa bought it new and he kept it up real well and I plan to do the same.

Lookin good! With the way those front wheels are angled it must have a nice tight turning radius.

I had one and I regret selling it, great machine, and yes the 244-H had 12" rear rims that were mounted as pictured.

Thanks Mike. This is the tightest turning tractor I own. If my big green and yellow beast could turn like this I might like it more.

Thanks Will. I don't think I will get rid of this one for quite a few years. I plan on keeping this one for my kids and grand kids. My grampa passed it down to me so I want to do the same some day.

No problem. I have noticed that most WH's have the wheels the other way.

Thanks Wheel Horse Kid. When we used to use the tractor we would only put 50 hours a year on it at the most. We changed the oil every 20-25 hours. It is mostly original as well. The belts, blades, and engine maintenance items (plug, oil filter etc) are not original. Other than that it is like it came off of the show room floor.
