WH 314-8 - Fuel Line Route

Recommended Posts

trollmeister

OK - I have a 1984 314-8 tractor. I got this unit back in May and since the end of May, when I started to cut the grass, I have had to replace the fuel line four times !

The prior three replacements, I just replaced the new line by phishing the new line in behind the older line. Today, 3-week old fuel line was cut once again. I think that it gets pinched between the frame and body assembly, just before it comes out of the tranny tunnel to the fuel filter. In any case, not having my tools with me, I could not take off the tranny tunnel cover plate, but I felt a "ring" up inside the tranny tunnel. So I phished the new line from the front back to the fuel tank and ran the line thru this "ring". Reconnected and I was off and running once again.

Does anyone know the proper route for the fuel line so it does not keep getting pinched / cut by the twisting of the frame / body when cutting the grass ?

TIA to those who can offer some assistance.

I had the same problem about 1.5 yrs ago, and got a great answer here on RS.

Do a search and you should find the thread, sorry, but I cannot remember, nor

would I do you any good to try and describe it.

I can say that my fuel line was eventually moving over and getting pinched in the

steering gears.

Thank you for the links and assistance.

I shall remove the trannel cover tunnel plate and make sure I route the new hose properly. Really appreciate the assistance.

THANK YOU . . .
