CRE1992 135 #1 Posted August 2, 2011 I recently picked up this 414-8, the previous owner said it sat under a tarp outside for 6 years because he bought a JD sub compact. When I went to look at it the first time I started it on starting fluid and heard it run and move wasn't bad for sitting for 6 years. I loaded it up and brought it home. I got around to playing with it yesterday, added a little gas and jumped the solenoid (needs a new solenoid) and it started right up and I drove it around for about 5 minutes before deciding to patch up the muffler a little (its completely shot). I haven't decided if I am going to clean it up and keep it, or just sell it as is. If anyone maybe interested in it just pm me. So far it needs:Muffler, left rear axle seal, a solenoid, choke cable, and a tune up. (I bought all of the stuff to give it a tune up, but haven't had the time) 414-8 running video
kadetklapp 1 #2 Posted August 2, 2011 Nice grab. Picked mine up a week ago and just got it running last night. I wish mine was an 8 speed rather than hydro.
CRE1992 135 #3 Posted August 2, 2011 It is a nice machine, however I don't know what to do with it. I don't really need it, but the price was right and I like working on things. It is a nice machine (mechanically lol) but I like my 416H and 520H a little more . If anyone might want it let me know :woohoo:
Edjfleming 0 #4 Posted August 2, 2011 Where are you located?
CRE1992 135 #5 Posted August 2, 2011 I am located by Freehold New Jersey (Central). I just gave her a full tune up, she runs good. After looking at it further, it also needs a rubber boot for the gear shifter and a new rear end dipstick. I changed the gear oil in the rear end with lucas, and I put the dipstick back in and went to pull it back out and only the stick came out, the cap was still seated nicely around the tube I am sure these are inexpensive. I have a cabin near Roscoe NY, and I travel up there quite often if someone is interested in it and it may seem a little far away. It would also come with the mule drive, it had a 48 inch deck on it, but the PO said he threw it out because he didn't think anyone would want it.
Edjfleming 0 #6 Posted August 2, 2011 I have eaten at Roscoe diner plenty of times on my way to Afton NY, my Uncle has a farm there!
CRE1992 135 #7 Posted August 2, 2011 I have a cabin on the other side of the Pepacton, my grandfather bought it 45 years ago for $100/acre and we have 130 acres The food at the Roscoe diner is pretty good if you ask me, the deep fried french toast has me . You should try Buffalo Zachs, great place also.

CRE1992 135 #10 Posted August 3, 2011 Thanks Joe . I was wondering what year it was.
mr.pipes 4 #11 Posted August 3, 2011 Just for future reference, there is a model list in the Wheelhorse picture gallery that lists tractors by year with the model numbers.
CRE1992 135 #12 Posted August 3, 2011 Thank you Mr Pipes! I have decided I will not be keeping her! She just had a full tune up. spark plug, air filter, fresh oil, gear oil in the rear, fuel filter and new fuel line. Shes ready to go mechanically besides needing the left rear axle seal, new dipstick, choke cable, solenoid, muffler and rubber shifter boot. I will be calling my local wheel horse dealer to check if they have a new dipstick and rubber boot tomorrow morning. I will post in the classified tomorrow! PM me if interested . mr.pipes 4 #13 Posted August 3, 2011 Your local dealer should have the shifter boot for about $4 to $5. I'm guessing they will have the dipstick too. If not, you can get one on Ebay or maybe some one here could hook you up.
