Partzman 0 #1 Posted July 30, 2011 javascript:emoticon('') I've search lots of your great tech help but haven't yet stumbled onto what the original factory operating specs for - hydro temp and pressure are. Some discussion about a high temp warning light on some models, but what temp was the sensor set? Also Hydro relief setting? I don't have a manual yet for my Charger 12 and the tractor is still a week away, but I'm planning some things for it. I think it has the Sunstrand- 70--72ish. It may also be that they did not publish either number. Any body with an idea or SWAG, would be appreciated. Thankxxxx LeeB
can whlvr 994 #2 Posted July 30, 2011 i know this doesnt help you but someone here will be able to direct you to the sundstrand manual,i for the life of me cant remember where it is,could be if you go to toro and find manuals it might be there but i just dont remember, but i did print out and used it when i had the pump rebuilt, maybe the info you need is in that manual,ok so i did try to find it and you go to www.toro.com then enter homeowner section, then look on the left column and you will see manuals, enter and then you need your model,i used 1-0400,its a 71 charger and then you will see manuals and the sundstrand manual can be downloaded,
boovuc 1,090 #3 Posted July 30, 2011 I'm not certain if you have a manual for the old hydro transmissions. Send me a PM here and I'll send you a repair manual of the trannys that Sundstrand made for from the mid-sixties to the early eighties. They talk pressures at some points in the systems. Never read anything about temps. Normally hydro operating temp ranges are from 120F to 200F. Anything above 200F is bad for any lenght of time. This range I stated is NOT specific to . It's normal ranges for a lot of hydro equipment. (My work place's 200HP hydro agitators on our chemical vessels for instance). Good Luck! Partzman 0 #4 Posted July 30, 2011 boovuc--Yes thankx . I send PM. Absent gauges we simply used a flat hand on the side of the reservoir and if you could hold it there, thats < 135 deg-optimum for industrial, but certainly these units, in the summer must be way higher. No I have no manual and would appreciate a peak at one. LeeB Little Rock, AR

Partzman 0 #7 Posted July 30, 2011 A quick read verifies 180d "Normal" operating temp and shows charge checks-70-150psi cold and pump 550-to 700 "available" for the later piston units-likely same for the hydrogears. Some differences also.I'll study it further. I have numerous hyd and pneumatic cylinders and valves I've collected over the last 10 years or so. By knowing system temp/pressures , and some tinkering, who knows what kind of "implement" I may come up with. Thanks, you've been a big help. LeeB
