darren 49 #1 Posted July 29, 2011 There's a beautiful looking Wheel Horse in Ohio that I'd love to ship over to the UK but I've no idea whether the shipping costs would make it prohibitive for me or not. If anyone has done so before, is in or knows somebody in the business who'd be able to give me a ballpark figure, I'd love to hear. I'm guessing a tractor could be pallet-shipped...? Thanks for any advice, Darren
neil 2,410 #2 Posted July 29, 2011 Hi Darren , I have shipped 3 Wheelhorse tractors over from America and the process is quite simple as long as the sender is happy to cooperate with you . i have shipped to the UK RJ58 suburban 551 and a 653 i can say that if you intend to try and make a profit from the tractor then forget the shipping, but if its a tractor that you really want then ive found its worth doing this is one of the tractors i imported from USA

mr.pipes 4 #4 Posted July 30, 2011 Here is a post with a little info on one that went from New York to Australia http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...70&hl=composite EDIT: Buyer made most of the arrangements. The seller was told the cost was around $750-$1000 by the shipping co.
whlpny 203 #5 Posted July 30, 2011 Darren- you need to PM or Email member Chris Sutton from England. He purchased a tractor from me a few years back and had it shipped back to England. I belive he has a connection in the shipping industry who squeezed it into a container when they found room. I know he has done this a few times when he buys stuff here in the states at the PA show. I do remeber he said there was like a 6 month wait to get it but it was worth it and the rate wasn't really too bad if your patient enough to let it fit in where they can find a handy spot and not be in a rush. jusjeepn 59 #6 Posted July 30, 2011 I sold one of those green tractors to a guy in Germany. I can't be of much help though. All I had to do was remove the battery, drain the gas and the engine oil. Didn't have to drain the trans though. Buyer had a truck sent to my house with a lift gate and we just rolled it on and strapped it down. The driver of the truck was a freight driver for a factory in Indianapolis not a freight company. He said it was probably going in a shipping container because they ship stuff to Germany all the time. I never heard back from the buyer so I can only assume it made it there in one piece!
