StWeiler 6 #1 Posted July 29, 2011 There is a local seller that has a 753. comes with the deck and an extra set of tires/wheels. I know little about these little boogers but have always thought they look fun. Is $450 a decent price? It seems kind of high to me considering he says it hasn't ran in 5 years. It does appear to be in pretty good shape though. The fenders are off and the deck is off so I'm not able to tell the functionality of the actual tractor. Should I just move along? JUSS10 250 #3 Posted July 29, 2011 some people think these things are worth gold, dont get me wrong they are awesome machines, all of my round hoods are hard working machines and can run circles around most box store mowers. But as CO said, they aren't really rare, the most i have paid for one is that general area of the country is $300 for a 603 that had a rebuilt kohler swapped in with a fresh trans, snow plow and mower deck. in unknown running condition i have paid anywhere from $75 to $250 based on the completeness and visible condition of the tractor. unfortunately there always seems to be someone that is willing to pay a higher price or these, i have had luck looking at a tractor priced that high and talk them down, most people who price them that high either no nothing about them so they think they are rare or are just trying to BS about them and get top dollar, usually they can fool someone. For as many as i have purchased i have had to pass up double due to issues like that. rydogg 186 #4 Posted July 29, 2011 Usually I will go up to $300 for a round hood depending on condition and attachments, I did spend a bit more on my 701 ($700) but that has a completely rebuilt motor, and has been repainted/restored. I may have around $300 into my non-running 753 but I had to make a 5 hour round trip to get it so some of that was fuel cost. I would offer somewhere in the $150-$250 range if it's complete since I have a shelf full of kohlers running or not makes no difference to me otherwise be patient and another one will come along you may need to be quick and ready to travel since there are getting to be a lot of horse "hunters". Coadster32 793 #6 Posted July 30, 2011 I got lucky...my non-running 753 came to my door delivered for $100. (I gave the guy an extra $10 for gas) That won't happen very often.
