Hello,

I am looking for some 12x8.5 rear wheels for my 312-H. Can anyone please tell me which brand/make of wheels will fit correctly on my horse??

Thanks.

i would think that any manufacturers tires will fit,i like carlisle but thats jmo, there are lots of tire companies and as long as you are getting 12 inch rim and 8.5 wide any should work, sorry were you meaning rims or tires?

Problem with running a different rim of any manufacture is the offset. WH's have less than 2" offset I think, it makes the tire/wheel stick way out. You can move the hub out some to accommodate, but can't go too much.

I have a set of 8.5" off an older Sears, it's close to a WH offset, but still had to move them out some....

Does anyone know if John Deere 12x8.5 from an older 316 or 318 series will give me the correct fit??

Thanks...

I believe Wheel Horse is the only brand that has such a high positive offset. I have 12" rims from Wheel Horse, Sears and John Deere and as littleredrider said Sears is close... but will still result in wheels that are hugging the inside of the tractor... potentially interfering w/ the gas tank, brake band, hydro filter or other components (especially when chains are installed). Even if they do clear those parts you may not like the look.

The only reason I have even entertained the offset of these other brands (particularly John Deere which is very neutral) is that I have 1.5" wheel spacers that make up the difference. Cub Cadet is similar to Sears, and Allis Chalmers and Bolens are often quite different (mounted backwards). It really depends on what look you want, too.

Good luck! :woohoo:

First of all where are you located? Secondly I have front and rear wheels/tires off a 516H. They are a little dry rotted but I think they hold air? lol

I had a set of 8.5s off an old sears mounted on my 854. Tires where 23x10.5x12s, I only had to move the hub out ,maybe a 1/4". I thought it was more than that, but when I put the duals on I noticed it that's all it was.

I just mounted the John Deere rims w/ 23x10.5-12 tires on my C-160. Without the 1.5" wheel spacers, I'd have no prayer of them fitting... the tires are about 1/3" away from one of the key hydro components. They are actually a bit *negative* offset it seems.

I believe Wheel Horse, Sears or perhaps Cub Cadet are the way to go.

This is a great question :woohoo:

I just bought a very rough C-120 and noticed the offset is different than the wheels on my C-121.

The older C-120 wheels are almost centered while my C-121 has a definite offset to the inside of the rim.

Is it possible the centered ones are not stock ???

:D
