kodiak 5 #3 Posted July 27, 2011 That was helpful with a model number for an 85 310-8 but im not sure if that is the year i have where would the tag be on the tractor. tunahead72 2,551 #8 Posted July 28, 2011 Nick, The fact that your sticker is located in front of the seat actually narrows things down a good bit. For the 1987 models, the stickers moved to the left side of the seat, and I'm guessing they stayed there in later years. The 1985 models had a silver stripe on the hood, like the one in this thread: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=30167 The 1986 models had more of a red/maroon stripe on the hood, like the ones on these 1987 models: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=4904 Which is not to say the PO didn't swap the hood as well.... <_< Are you certain the engine is a K301? The kicker is, there were actually TWO model numbers for the 1986 310-8's: 21-10K802 and 21-10K803. There's another thread here that touches on that fact -- you'll have to wade through a lot of other stuff (all 310-8 related) to get there, or you can start reading at my post on 4/22/11: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=27508 Bottom line, the two model numbers are nearly identical, the only exception I've ever seen being the transmission case and inner axle bearings. If anybody else knows differently, feel free to fill us all in here. -------- Just saw your photo, looks like an '86 to me.
