a new acquisition

Hello everyone,

I've found an all original (except the decals on the hood) c-161, that last ran in 2005.

After filling the tires, an oil change, and adding some fuel, the kohler took off after 10 seconds, and it runs great. The only bad is that the silentblocks are almost shot and the headlightlens is damaged.

Safe and dry

But that's not the end of this thread.

While cutting grass with my Rear discharge (42")(I've also got a 48" SD, but that's really shot, see pic), I've always had problems with its 'mulching' capabilities. If the grass is dry and the grass isn't too long, it works fine. But when it's a little bit too heigh or humid, it starts to leave cloggs on the lawn. The deck has already the high lift blades, so the gator blades doesn't seem to be a big improvement to me.

But when I bought the new tractor, my eyes fell on a bagger system (I think newheavenpower sells it new on the net).

First of all, is there anyone who has experience with these? (Does it work well on a wet lawn?, Can I pick up leaves and small branches with it?, How strong is the plastic?etc)

As you guys can see, it's not complete. It's missing a good deck :woohoo: with a double pulley or someting like that, and a frame to attach the bags to the rear axle.

I can't find pictures of it here...

Best regards,

Philipp

Hi Phillip, The C-161 look's in very good condition. Nice find!. Is it a '78' or '79'?.

Headlamp lenses are expensive. My C-120's Lense is also cracked., but I shall try and repair it.

Sorry I can't help with the Decks or Grass Collector :woohoo: .

You have a good Stable of W'Horses there :ROTF: . The one in the middle of your picture reminds me of this Smiley> :D ...... :D

Regards.

Looks like you did rather well Philipp, your 161 appears "straight" and apart from a few small things, ready for work. :woohoo:

Concerning the Twin Bagger, there was a thread (started by P3x) headed "Vac Bagger attachment", a while ago in the Implement and attachment section. You may have to go back a page or two to find it. :D (sorry but I havn't worked out how to make the link yet). Good luck with it, it's a useful bit of kit.

Thank you for your answers.

Richard, it's a 78. Thank for for the compliment. The other tractor looks indeed a little bit like a :D but I like it, and most important the 55 W lights give a great visebility.

Rex, thank you for the tip; I did a search in the tractors section and the picture gallery, but I forgot to look at the attachements section. :woohoo:

nice find. the plastic blower housing will not withstand a lot of abuse, you will need to pickup all limbs and other objects that will turn into projectiles before you pickup the leaves

The ranger is perfectly working Vincent. A great little tractor.

Thank you Pieter-Jan.

Paul, I was already afraid that the plastic was fragile, we will see what it does.

I'm going to work on it next week, after my holiday.

Best Regards
