wheel boy 0 #1 Posted July 27, 2011 On my 1957 rj-35's kohler motor it says to use S.A.E 30 oil? Can I use something else? like 10w-30 or 5w-30 oil. What do you guys suggest to use?? Thanks
305 380 #2 Posted July 27, 2011 i would use straight 30 weight oil as suggested. while i'm not a small engine expert , i have found most small air cooled 4-cycle engines seam to use straight weights in summer , and maybe 5-30 in winter
CasualObserver 3,411 #3 Posted July 27, 2011 There have been many, many topics on what oil.... read through the "Engines" forum if you want to find some of them. Everyone's brand preference is different, as are the ideas of petroleum oil or synthetic oil....but when it comes to the weight... I still use straight 30 wt. You might just have to go to an actual auto parts store to find it.
