SMITTY 23 #1 Posted July 26, 2011 Getting ready to reinstall my K241 on my Charger. Manual says run at full throttle how many RPMs?
Duff 206 #2 Posted July 26, 2011 I've heard 3600 rpm around here as the "rule of thumb" but I'd wait for one of the more seasoned motor people to chime in..... Duff :woohoo:
tunahead72 2,551 #3 Posted July 26, 2011 I don't know how much more "seasoned" I am than Duff , and I'm certainly no more of an expert on these engines than he is, but I'll add my 2 cents worth: The "maximum operating RPM" specified in the Kohler service manuals for the K141 through K341 engines is 3600 RPM (the 4 HP K91 max. is 4000 RPM). The information I've seen in Wheel Horse manuals says they should be set at 3400 max. RPM, with no load. I have a couple of K241s on my machines, and this is where I'm keeping mine these days. Hope this helps!
Coadster32 793 #4 Posted July 26, 2011 Whatever the manual says, but I'd go with 3400, just under to be safe. :woohoo:
