Getting ready to reinstall my K241 on my Charger. Manual says run at full throttle how many RPMs?

I've heard 3600 rpm around here as the "rule of thumb" but I'd wait for one of the more seasoned motor people to chime in..... :D

I don't know how much more "seasoned" I am than Duff :woohoo: , and I'm certainly no more of an expert on these engines than he is, but I'll add my 2 cents worth:

The "maximum operating RPM" specified in the Kohler service manuals for the K141 through K341 engines is 3600 RPM (the 4 HP K91 max. is 4000 RPM).

The information I've seen in Wheel Horse manuals says they should be set at 3400 max. RPM, with no load. I have a couple of K241s on my machines, and this is where I'm keeping mine these days.

Whatever the manual says, but I'd go with 3400, just under to be safe. :woohoo:

Thanks 3400 it will be. Just had it rebuilt haven't been able to keep rods intact. Hope 4 time is the charm :woohoo:

Operator error first 2 times low on oil and I think that messed up the crank. Had it turned and cyl bored this time.
