richardsj 0 #1 Posted July 23, 2011 This old tractor was my "spare" for when my other rider broke down, then got permanently put in the shed about 4 years ago when I got a zero turn. At the time of putting it away it was running fine, has mower deck and wheel weights - obviously very well used, but certainly restorable. I am moving. It is free to a good home. Can you help me find a home for it? Located in Lawrence, KS. 785-594-3092. Here is what I gather, I think: Wheel Horse C-160 1974 Model 1 0385 9 Serial 1027314 Engine: Tecumseh HH 160-170019 Serial 3348 E

boovuc 1,090 #9 Posted July 24, 2011 Hi Richard, First........... I think it is great that you came here and offered your tractor to a member. That is a rarity and shows us something of your character. Too many times we tend to look at the money involved in this fascination for these tractors we have. (If just in the trading, purchase or the selling of them), for you to give up a couple hundred dollars and just offer a Wheelhorse to a member close to you is commendable. I wish you well and I'm sure whoever accepts your offer will take nice care of that tractor. BooVuc Mill Hall, PA

Is it just coincidence, or did you join the site just to bash another member? I talked to his wife this morning & she told me the same thing. I talked to him this afternoon & he explained his job is moving out of state & if he wants to keep it , he has to move to Kentucky. He has two kids that are going to be seinors in h/s this fall & doesn't want to uproot them so his wife is staying until the kids graduate. As you can imagine, he has alot on his plate. He never discussed the w/his wife because he didn't know it was an issue. Turns out it was a BIG issue w/his wife. Recind a free offer he made to a guy on the phone or face hardships in his marriage over a well used 36yr. old garden tractor until who knows when? As someone who is happily married, I can say, he made the right choice. I can understand your upset, but I don't see the reasoning to "call him out" on this website. He may have made his 1st & last post, because of your comments. If this is the 1st deal that didn't work out for you, I can speak from experience, it's not going to be the last. HorseFixer 2,013 #14 Posted July 24, 2011 I am gonna say something here. I dont know if the guy joined the site just to ragg on the guy or not but a deal is a deal and a man IMHO is only as good as his word. And John Burrrly has a good point about the spine thing, if the guy bucked up he should have got on here and fessed up told everyone the deal is off and why, so no one gets all jacked up on a non obtainable horse. But in my world I feel the the man should be head of house and make the decisions wife upset or not. MJ got mad at me years ago on a 1054 I got rid of that she said was hers that was after I made the deal with the guy in a trade and she was crying belle ring and the whole smear. I thought a minute and then told her to dry it up, And knock it off, a deal is a deal and my words on the line here. I didn
