wheel boy 0 #1 Posted July 20, 2011 Hello, I would like to know if the red on an Rj-58 is the same as a David Bradley Tri trac as I have both to paint? What paint do you recommend? What painting machine do you recommend? What sandblasting machine do you recommend? Whats best to blast in with? Looking for different responses and comments. The price doesn't really matter if it does an amazing job. Thanks a lot, Anthony javascript:emoticon('')
rmaynard 16,348 #2 Posted July 20, 2011 Couldn't tell you about the paint colors, but I use single-stage Acrylic Urethane paint applied with an HVLP spray gun. The color is your choice as there is no definitive Wheel Horse red color. All of my recently restored parts were glass-bead blasted.
VinsRJ 723 #3 Posted July 20, 2011 What Bob said on the actual color. Most use IH red from what I have read here on RS. I tend to e-tank all parts and then glass bead myself.

kthack657 328 #5 Posted July 24, 2011 HI, if you are looking to do a spray paint, I recommend the Rustoleum Regal Red. it is pretty close to the IH Red, but for me is cheaper and does apretty decent job. I wish I had room for a whole paint setup, but well gotta make due with what I have. Watch some of the restoration paints, I got some IH red supposedly for restoration, it was really thin and didnt cover. needless to say, I went right back to good old rustoleum. and just a heads up safety and sunset red are way too bright so if you cant find the regal, keep looking...been there too thsnk god it was only a deck. :D
