Hi Guys,

I just purchase a new-to-me log cabin on 15 acres and in the barn was a tired and abandoned 310-8. I got it running without to much trouble and have been fixing up its issues over the last couple weeks. I bought a 10hp Chinese diesel because I always thought it would be fun to convert an older lawn tractor with one. I will post up some pictures of the old girl soon. It has a 42" rear discharge (maybe a recycler with the baffles removed). The center spindle threads are stripped out on the bottom side, so I am waiting for a new spindle and double pulley to arrive. The kohler runs great, but I am excited to have it diesel powered. I really like the quality of these tractors. This one has been somewhat neglected, but still seems to be in good working condition. I like that they are made like a real machine, not a throw away home depot type mower.

So far this forum has already been a great help with diesel conversion questions.

Here are some of my other mechanical toys

-1990 audi 90 that I restored and modified in every way possible. I adapted a turbo from a cummins diesel to it with my own home made tubular manifold. It put out around 500hp and runs an 11.5 in the quarter mile @130mph. It is all wheel drive, so putting the power down is no problem. Keeping the transmission together is another story :D

-Here is my other 1990 audi 90 that I put and engine from and audi s4 into. It is just around 300 hp and serves and my winter car and daily driver. It is not nearly as nice as the first one.

Here is my chevy k20 plow truck, was a mess when I picked it up (and it still is, but at least it functions now)

before some work:

I hope to soon have some pictures of my wheel horse to share (just need to find my camera card)

Thanks for the replys guys! I got my chinease diesel in the mail yesterday and decided to fire it up. I didnt have any diesel handy, so I mixed up a 50/50 blend of new atf and veggie oil. Fired right up and sounded good. Got me excited to swap it in. Hopefully I can get started in two weeks after I return from work travel. It was going to be #1 on my list, but I broke a big bay window mowing the lawn last night before I left...so that became #1 job when I get home <_
