persof 14 #1 Posted July 19, 2011 In disassembling my C-161a the wires in a connector that goes to the pto engagement switch came out. I don't care about the connector but I do need to know where the wires go. Thanks Francis
300zx 7 #2 Posted July 19, 2011 Francis, I just went down and looked at my C161a. The center top in your picture is black. The one to it's right is black and the lower two are red. Since the circuit just flows though those safety switches, I am sure it doesn't matter if the black and black are switched left and right and the same with the red. persof 14 #3 Posted July 19, 2011 John, One of the wires is orange "and the lower two are red" does that matter if the orange is on the right or on the left? Thanks Francis :D
300zx 7 #4 Posted July 19, 2011 Francis, It doesn't matter which side the orange is on, as long as it is one of the lower two and the red is the other. It is just a make or break safety switch. The blacks are one circuit and the red and orange are the other. The black circuit is the ignition circuit and if the pto is engaged and you get off the seat, the engine quits. The red/orange circuit is on the starter relay. It won't let you start the engine if the pto is engaged. So it is the same thing on the blacks, they can go to either side as long as it is one of the upper two. My guess is that the orange wire used to be red and has faded. Both of my wires are red.
