Good oils for older engines

Recommended Posts

A couple of weeks ago there was some discussion about using modern day oils in our older engines. There were a few oils mentioned and I just wanted to add name of another oil that has enhanced levels of zinc concentrate. Brad Penn is the name of the oil. For those interested just Google Brad Penn and check it out. :woohoo:

I was talking to a friend that has a collection of old engines. He said that he had rebuilt an engine for some one and it kept forcing oil out the oil filler. they put an "O"ring on that and it forced oil out the breather. He took the engine apart and could not find anything wrong with it. The owner fill it back with detergent oil and it did the same as before. The detergent oil was foaming up and causing the problem. He changed it to non detergent oil and it stopped forcing the oil out.
