timmybobwatt 0 #1 Posted July 11, 2011 Hi all, In the process of restoring a 227-5 - had her running today for the first time in 15 years. Great feeling. Only problem is, I can't knock the engine off with the ignition! FYI - I'm using a 103991 switch. This turns the engine on no problems, and the 'accessories' all work fine. The engine wont start unless the PTO is disengaged, the clutch is depressed and someone is sitting on the seat. None of these in 'reverse' turn the engine off either. The 227-5 comes with a test board if this is of any help? Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks MikesRJ for pointing me in the right direction for a similar wiring diagram. smoreau 658 #2 Posted July 11, 2011 Sounds like the ground wire for the magneto has come off that kills the spark. What kind of engine does it have?
timmybobwatt 0 #3 Posted July 11, 2011 Thanks for the fast reply. The engine is a Kawasaki FC540V.
