jbumgarner 12 #1 Posted July 9, 2011 I picked up this 702 yesterday. I was hoping the experts on the site may notice any issues that I may not be aware of. I am new to WH and may be overlooking the obvious. Engine runs fine with no smoke and the mowing deck has been in storage for 35 years, so I would say its sound. VinsRJ 723 #2 Posted July 9, 2011 I'm not an expert by any means on 702s but it loos like you did well. :woohoo:

Horse'n Around 22 #7 Posted July 10, 2011 Nice find, it looks absolutely great to me. For the most part it looks to be pretty much original too. What an awesome tractor !!!!!! :woohoo:
puddlejumper 67 #8 Posted July 10, 2011 I really wish I could find one like that, All faded in one color, I wouldnt do anything but mechanically restore it and give it a thorough cleaning. All of mine have had something painted or missing when I get them and they look like a patchwork tractor unless you repaint them.
stevasaurus 23,294 #9 Posted July 10, 2011 I am going out on a limb here and say that your 702 looks to be complete and original. The lights were added, and maybe the seat, but that tractor and the deck look fantastic. That is the best unrestored 702 that I have seen, and is an excellent example of the 702 without the HY-2. Thanks for sharing. If the real experts agree, those pictures should be in WH Picture section. :D
AMC RULES 37,202 #10 Posted July 10, 2011 I'm drooling over here. Looks like an easy resto, if you decide to go that route. Pretty sure I'd clean it up and leave its patina in place. Really nice score for sure, you did well.
rj35hunter 288 #11 Posted July 10, 2011 Very nice!! My vote leave it in it's original work clothes as well. You don't find them that nice too often any more. Looks great....nice find!!! :ROTF:
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,540 #12 Posted July 10, 2011 The only thing I would do that that machine is paint the wheels and seat all the same color white (off white). It looks too clean to ruin by painting it !! Nice machine .... :woohoo:

BPjunk 184 #15 Posted July 11, 2011 Jeff, The 702 you posted is a very low serial numbered tractor. Good find. Did you give up on the tractor you had asked me about? Wild Bill in Richmond, Va.
jbumgarner 12 #16 Posted July 11, 2011 I didn't give up on the 552, but found this tractor and thought it was a better deal. Now I just need to figuire out what to do with it. I am playing around with the idea of a full restoration or as many have said leave it as is with only a mechanical restoration. I am just happy to have a tractor to work on and play with. :woohoo:
