C-175 drive belt replacement

Recommended Posts

gipster

Hi,

New to the forum and looking for info on getting my 1983 c-175 8 speed moving again. The drive belt from the engine to the transaxle is broken and needs to be replaced. Can anyone point me to a resource with instructions? it looks like the whole side of the tractor has to come off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

jim

first :woohoo:

Just take the right side running board and belt cover off and change the belt. reverse the proceedure to reassemble.

before you start clean the tractor so you can see what your working on and take pictures as you go for reference.

its not too bad too install a drive belt, the belt number is probally 7473,i went to www.partstree.com,a great place to get pictures and part numbers, but it lists 93- 9809 but thats for a hydro, you said 8 speed, for all the 8 speed tractors of that era 7473 is the toro number, but please check with your toro dealer if someone else here doesnt chime in

It is hard to find the listing for the correct drive belt for the model 11-17K801 1983 C-175 Twin 8-speed as was recently discussed.

The final outcome was the belt is Wheel Horse 107939 replaced by Toro 93-9809 (HBx83.5")

This was eventually verified in an original parts list.

The 1983 C-175 Twin Auto uses Toro 108502 (HB/5Lx83")
