WIRING DIAGRAM NEEDED! E2-17K502 227-5 (1989)

Hi all,

Desperately trying to get my 227-5 up-and-running again.

Could someone please point me in the right direction for the wiring diagram?

I've been on the Toro site and the best I can come up with is a parts manual - not really specific enough!

Hope someone, somewhere can help!

Section 5-1, PDF page 123. You machines wiring is identical to the 212-5 depicted on that page:

We have since acquired switch number 103991 as a replacement for this mower.

Someone has kindly cut the wires so we're pretty much going from scratch.

Am I right in thinking that '3' replaces 'G' or ground?

The rest:

A - Accessories

B - Battery

R - Rectifier

S - Start

M - Magneto

Any other input would be hugely appreciated, no matter how patronising it may appear. Even "run this wire to this etc" would be appreciated!

I have no idea what "3" you are referring to.

What you have (103991) is displayed below and I don't see a "3".

All running - but can't the ignition to stop the engine. Your thoughts?

Check the ground from the switch to the frame. When the key switch is in the off position, terminals M and A should be grounded through the switch terminal G. If the ground from G to the machines frame is not good, the machine will not shut off.
