panyaguas 14 #1 Posted July 6, 2011 Hello, I have what I believe is a 754. It had sat in a barn for many years and I am getting ready to work on it. The belt guard does read 754. I am trying to find out from the serial number if it actually is and I am having a hard time finding that info. The serial number on it is 48301 Can anyone on here tell me if this is a true 754? Thanks
C-Series14 15 #2 Posted July 6, 2011 If you go to the Yahoo Groups manual site, in the database, yours is listed along with several other 754 models and there is a serial number 48306 right after yours.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #3 Posted July 6, 2011 Have seen 12 serial numbers so far for the 754 ranging from 48034-48689 with no other model interuptions. It has be said there were 421 units built. 48034-48689 is 655 units. If the highest serial number of 48689 should read 48389 it would be 355 units so far. jusjeepn 59 #4 Posted July 6, 2011 In other words; yes its rare, no it's not worth a million bucks, and please do not part this one out, sell it as a complete unit. We know you like to part em out because it's a well known fact they bring more in pieces. Please have some respect for the rare pieces that are intact or nearly complete. If its a pile of parts then it's a pile of parts. Recently another well known "Parts supplier" parted out a nice 1045.....They lost all respect from me because he knew it was a rare piece but the almighty dollar rules some (most) people. Please, as a member of this forum, have some respect for these somewhat rare machines that were special production runs and are in limited supply.
panyaguas 14 #5 Posted July 6, 2011 Yes I do sell some parts but I have no intentions on parting this one out. I paid good money for it and it took me forever to get the guy to sell it to me even though he had two of them. Just wanted to make sure that it is an original model. That will make me feel better as I am fixing it up. Thanks for all of the help guys.
