Kai Thomsen 17 #1 Posted July 5, 2011 I was looking for an 1973 8hp 8speed in: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=14211 but the picture is no longer available. Could someone help me with another picture of the 1-0370 tractor ? I would like to see if it looks the same as mine.
JUSS10 250 #2 Posted July 5, 2011 i can't help you with a picture of the tractor, but there are quite a few threads in the photos section with dead links. not sure what the best solution is but this is an issue that has bothered me quite a bit lately as well... CasualObserver 3,411 #3 Posted July 5, 2011 Justin... a PM to one or two moderators with the specific thread would help. We don't have any way of knowing when the pictures go missing, and obviously we're not going to take inventory. Just the nature of the internet and hosted photos. Best we can do is see if we can replace any that are missing, or delete those posts. Thanks.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #4 Posted July 5, 2011 I don't have a picture of the '73 8 / 8 speed, but I will tell you that with the exception of the solid-mounted fender and lack of storage area under the fender, they are very similar to the 1976/1977 B-80 8 speed. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9776
sscotsman 186 #5 Posted July 5, 2011 There are two main reasons photos disappear: 1. If the photo was hosted on Imageshack, they (imageshack) automatically delete photos after 6 months to a year. 2. For a missing photo hosted on photobucket, or anywhere else, the person who owns the account deleted the photo..PM-img Redsquare moderators will do nothing, since they have no control over the photos.. Often people forget they had posted photos in forum threads, and when they need to clean out their account they think "I dont need this photo anymore..*delete*" and the photo link in the forum dies.. the only way to prevent it is: Never use Imageshack. Never delete any photo you have uploaded to photobucket, or anywhere else. Scot
CasualObserver 3,411 #6 Posted July 5, 2011 PM-img Redsquare moderators will do nothing, since they have no control over the photos.. Not quite true. Moderators can get rid of the posts with dead photos. However... not if we don't know where they are, and no one tells us they're missing.

Maybe it's because mine is built in Belgium, or they just tossed it together out of spareparts, but it has an 8speed gearbox (10pinion )... and i thought..maybe they put the wrong ID plate on ? and it really is a 1-0370 ? but i can't find any pictures of one. Can you tell me, if it is a short frame tractor ? i am looking for a snowplow and frame, but i don't know which one to look for.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #8 Posted July 5, 2011 A 1973 8hp / 8 speed is a long frame. (45.5" wheelbase) Models sold here in the USA would have used the 4 pinion differential / 1" axle model #5086 tranz. There was also a 1972 Raider 8 that would be very similar to the 8 / 8 speed: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12915

However... not if we don't know where they are, and no one tells us they're missing. As a member, I would ask that the moderators not simply delete posts with "dead" photos, those posts could have other information that might still be useful to us. Instead the mods, or anybody else for that matter, could PM the person who posted the photo originally. It's possible the photo has just been moved to another folder on PhotoBucket, or maybe it's still available on that person's home computer (or even camera), lots of possibilities here. Just a thought....
