WildHorses 431 #1 Posted July 2, 2011 I've been looking for a good used wheel horse dump cart for some time. They are hard to find and normally by the time I call they're sold. I'm not looking for a show piece just a normal use one to go with my 518 that I won't feel bad about using, however I don't want one with rust holes in it or one that looks like its been through a war. I would like one from the 80's preferably a wheel horse one before Toro. I know they were made by Ohio Steel. I've been contemplating buying one of those and painting it red but I haven't found anyone selling them close to me and I'm about to give up my search and go to Lowes/Sears and buy a new generic one. Does anyone have any personal experience with the newer dump carts? Is there any brand or make better than anyone else? I know agri-fab makes most of the box store brands now and they just don't look as thick as the older ones. There are a ton of these precise fit models on craigslist and ebay so I'm assuming those must have some sort of problem. I sound like a girl trying to decide on a prom dress I know lol Just looking for suggestions from someone that has been in my shoes. Should I wait it out for the Wheel Horse dump cart or do something else? I'm not in a situation where it's an urgent need but it would definitely be nice to have around. Any help is greatly appreciated. :D
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted July 2, 2011 :D I haven't found anyone selling them close to meWhere exactly is "close to you"? I wouldn't be too concerned about anything more than finding a well-built trailer - if you're going to actually use it. There aren't too many trailers/carts that a decal won't stick to. :woohoo:

Get a decent store or craigslist trailer and use it. You can always keep looking for a one. Besides if you get a nice one you might not want to use it anyway. That's the way I am. I got this nice little dump cart to use at shows. I don't use it for every day use so it hangs in the shop. I put Rhino liner inside it to protect it when hauling show goodies! Forest Road 594 #4 Posted July 2, 2011 I've been looking as well. And the same thing happens here. I call and its gone. I did find an old WH like the one squonk's photo for $55. But I really need a 17 cubic ft. unit. I need it for brush and firewood usage. Tractor supply has the best price on one $225 I believe. HD and Lowes were well above $300.. Good luck! WildHorses 431 #5 Posted July 2, 2011 I think buying a model that isn't a wheel horse is going to be my cheapest/easiest option. Does anyone have any recommendations on newer carts? I don't need a huge one and I don't really want to spend more than $200 on one. The metal ones dent, I'm sure the plastic ones will eventually crack but I'm assuming the metals ones are better overall. Good experiences, bad? I'm sure there isn't much difference in them but after assembling one and using it I'm sure no one will return one :woohoo:

WildHorses 431 #8 Posted July 2, 2011 I saw that Lambert, I thought it was expensive for a used cart but I didn't know those were high dollar to begin with. It is the right color as well. I found a good discussion on this on another site. I'm not sure if it's against the rules here but its a good discussion. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=179572
